I love children, teaching, and swimming. I have been teaching swimming lessons and life guarding at various pools, including the Taylorsville Recreation Center, the West Jordan pool, and the Utah State HPER pool for three years.
In the summer of 2011 I began Jennifer's School of Fish swimming lessons and I absolutely loved forming my own program and working with families directly. Managing my own business has allowed me to format the lessons to fit the needs of the families I work with and myself. It also allows you to ensure you know who will be working with your children and gives you a more hands-on experience with your child's swim lesson experience.
My teaching philosophy is to help each child reach his or her fullest potential. I am always open to parent suggestions and will teach what you most want your child to know but I believe the best way for a child to stay safe in the water is by helping them learn the basics and become confident in their swimming ability. Teaching is not just a job in which I am working for an hourly wage like I've found is the case at other pools. My ultimate goal is to help your child progress and learn to swim correctly and I will do all I can to help them become proficient as they work hard.
